Art therapy is a discipline consisting of an intervention technique for people with some deficit, pathology or similar. Its use is pioneering and incipient in our country with elderly people to treat both the prevention of deterioration and to stimulate dementias and other pathologies associated with this group.
It is used within therapeutic programs to achieve cognitive stimulation in tasks of recognition through smell, hearing, taste and touch, through techniques related to art and artistic expression using hands to create; although in later phases other artistic productions could be carried out.
Through artistic productions (plastic, sound, theatrical, literary, dance, etc.) they are allowed to recreate themselves, and the emotions and feelings involved during their realization are translated into colors, shapes, lines and movements to deepen in the contents that emerge from them.
